interview : chris martin

Chris Martin, Untitled, 2007, oil and collage on canvas, 54 x 49 inches.
There's a terrific interview with painter Chris Martin here in the Brooklyn Rail. Martin is showing currently at Mitchell-Innes & Nash in New York.
Martin:
"I'm giving myself permission to try stuff. I've gotten more accepting of the things that I can't do and hopefully more accepting of the things I'm compelled to do over and over."

It's a nice interview. Did you see James Kalm's videos of his studio visit with Chris Martin?

Great, I love Chris Martin, can't wait to read this. Reminds me of these drawings though:

Give me a call sometime; seems like ages.

Douglas,
Thanks for these videos -- they're just what I've needed these days. Martin and Nozkowski I've been following since the mid-1990s and Martin has especially been an enigma until recently. Love it.
