where am i?

...or perhaps, more to the point, where have I been? Today there is only time for a short answer, which is, I've been working a lot both in the studio and out of it. During this time there have been some shifts in my work that I'd like to talk about more here in the future. Above is an image of two new paintings...part of what I believe will be a series tentatively titled "Cloud Cover." These are black gesso and acrylic gouache on canvas. I made them to take with me to Oakland, California, which is where I am now, staying with Chris Ashley (below, see them installed at the top of his stairs.) These two paintings are en route to Tokyo, Japan. They'll be couriered there by Richard Schur for an exhibition he's organizing called "Suitcase." More soon...
