juan paints on canvas

Juan made his first paintings on canvas yesterday, and then proclaimed he wanted to be a painter. As you can see from the photos, both pieces underwent radical changes/development throughout the process. He worked on these over 20 minutes or so. At one point, he had a brush in each hand and was painting on both canvases simultaneously. I showed him a few different kind of marks he could make with the brush, and he used that as a jumping-off point to try out other possible ways of using the brush.

I see that these images are not sequential, nor do they show the finished pieces, which I'll photograph and post. Juan took the paintings to school to show his friends.
