events news, part 2

Beach, acrylic on canvas, 44 x 50 inches
Here are two more upcoming exhibitions to announce (use the link in my sidebar to see all my upcoming events on one page):
Douglas Witmer : "Marquee Moon" and other paintings
December 1-24, 2006
Red Door Gallery [no website]
Richmond, VA
This is a brand new gallery opening in October. The other artist who will also be having a solo show at the same time as me is J.T. Kirkland.
Across the Borderline : Collaborative works by Chris Ashley and Douglas Witmer
January 10-February 10, 2007
Rike Center Gallery, University of Dayton, OH
Chris and I are currently in the process of scheming all manner of ways to work together, and this is going to be a very interesting experience. We set up a collaborative weblog that you can view in advance of the exhibition. Go to www.AcrossTheBorderline.com/weblog, bookmark that, and check back often!

Douglas, congratulations: getting the name out. Also, I love the trading cards idea. The intimacy of baseball cards always appealed to me, as well as the format/size. Will the gallery-goers be able to "shuffle" through them?

Nice beach there Douglas. And, of course, Marquee Moon is a favorite.
Good luck with your shows. You are cooking up a 'calm storm': the eye, the periphery and the haptic.
