minus space online exhibition & interview

I'm thrilled to announce my on-line exhibition and interview which is available beginning today on Minus Space. You can view a dozen new works that are not currently on my own site. Also, there's an extensive interview conducted by the Oakland, California-based artist and writier Chris Ashley. Forthcoming from Minus Space will be a printed catalogue that excerpts the interview, and I will be having an exhibition of my work at their Brooklyn space in January.

This has been a long time coming. I became affiliated with Minus Space about two years ago. I remember seeing the site for the first time and having the feeling that it could be home for my work. Matthew Deleget and Rossana Martinez immediately expressed their enthusiasm and support, and we have since formed a meaningful friendship.

Chris and I first began corresponding in early September. As events played out, Chris was able to spend nearly a week's time here in Philadelphia in early October. Chris stayed at my place, and we made a trip to see my work in person at Pfenninger Gallery in Lancaster, and then took a long (and incredibly rainy) drive through the Lancaster County farmland.

Because he's a painter, he asks questions and writes about art from a painter's standpoint, and I hope you'll agree that he gets to the real heart of things in the interview.

Thanks, Chris! And thank you, Matthew and Rossana!
