the sublime is always close at hand
...Long days here...the farm's geometry awakes in the early evening light...a transitional painting emerges...leaving the studio just before 10:00, still time to bask in the sublime

Dang, you're making me homesick with all these pictures...although we had a creek; no lake. Has the lake been affecting you visually this week, or mostly the vernacular architecture?
About the wood background, it really has a life of its own...as much as I like the "white box" aesthetic, there is a simmering appeal to the pattern of wood; both erratic and orderly.
